Rumey's Chocolaterie Cafes are now open in Thame and Wendover as usual, we are still offering a chocolate Click and Collect service from both locations. Place your order as usual, at the checkout screen input your address details it will give you the option for FREE click and collect - or £3.99 postage if further afield.

Chocolaterie Cafes Thame and Wendover Outside Seating

REOPEN & RELAUNCH. When we first opened almost 20 years ago our vision was to create a chocolaterie. A place you’d come to buy our handmade chocolates, and if the mood struck you perhaps enjoy a hot chocolate or piece of cake whilst watching our chocolatiers at work. The high street was a very different place then and there wasn't many other options for a ‘light bite’ so our menu gradually grew over time as customers requested breakfasts and lunch. Everything we made, we made the best we could with local ingredients and some Rumsey’s twists. But gradually over the years we became less of a chocolaterie and more of a cafe, as the menu grew and grew. Whilst it’s been a difficult year, the support we’ve had, particularly around our chocolates has been incredible and it’s given us the confidence to concentrate on doing what we do best.

Both chocolate cafes opened on 12th April 2021 with outdoor seating in both Thame and Wendover locations, with a delicious new menu. We are going back to our roots, focusing first and foremost on being a chocolaterie. We have been working hard on our new menu, and whilst you won’t see sandwiches and scrambled eggs you will find lots of amazing cakes, pastries, drinks and of course our chocolate fondue. All the Rumsey’s sweet classics, as well as lots of new treats, including not one but three different House Hot Chocolates. We hope to become a destination for all things sweet & delicious, especially chocolate and provide genuinely world-class delicacies for you to enjoy.

Mother's Day chocolates and Handmade Easter eggs are all sold out, all of our chocolate creations are handcrafted here on our premises, the shelf life is around 6 weeks depending on which specific flavour or product line you purchase. We have a huge variety of truffle ganache flavours, a ballotin (8) is £11.95 / (12) £17.95 and (20) £29.95 - UK Delivery is FREE when you spend £100 or £3.99 for everything else.

The Chilli Amaretto truffles (made with fresh red chillis) are a big hit and the ever-popular Salted Caramel truffles are one of the fastest sellers.

Nut lovers try: Almondine, Hazelnut Clusters, Macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts (vegan) Brazilia, Praline Cocoa (Vegan), Pistachio Marzipan and Praline Diamonds.

HOUSE HOT CHOCOLATE. Our signature espresso-sized chocolate drinks are pure indulgence. Handmade in the chocolateries, inspired by Parisian recipes, these are like drinking luxurious thick, melted chocolate.

Our new menu will feature not one, but three, different types:

Dark Chilli

Creamy Hazelnut Gianduja

Aztec Orange & Ginger

The latter is also dairy free and suitable for vegans.

All three are available from Monday when we reopen out outside seating in both our Thame & Wendover chocolateries.

NEW MENU, NEW BISCUITS. Nanna’s Shortbread Biscuit has been on our menu for years. It really is a family recipe having been given to Nigel by his Mum (Nanna Pam - who incidentally had her second Covid vaccination today 🎉). It will now be joined by two other delicious biscuits.

Crunchy and gooey all in one, swipe across the images for a close up. Dairy free so suitable for vegans, and most definitely taste tasted by the littlest Rumsey’s.

Linzer Biscuit.
Hazelnut biscuit filled with cranberry jam. The base is then dipped in gianduja chocolate. Gluten free and definitely way more than the “fancy jammy dodger” description I heard the other day! 🤣
