JOB TITLE: Wrapping and Fulfilment Assistant

REPORTING TO: Customer Service and Fulfilment Manager

PLACE OF WORK: Rumsey’s Chocolaterie Thame

HOURS: Up to 24 hrs per week. Ideally the structure of the week will include working some hours on a Wednesday and Thursday, though there will be flexibility for the right candidate on working pattern. School hours, midweek or weekend shifts all considered for the right candidate. 

SALARY: Age 18-20 £8.60 per hour, age 21+ £11.44

Purpose of the Role: This is a hand-on role, which involves beautifully wrapping and packaging Rumsey’s artisan chocolate products to the highest standard, always with the aim of delighting customers. 

  • Using cellophane, ribbon, foil and our specialist packaging, the role will wrap all chocolate products by hand for retail, wholesale and online sales.
  • The role will assist the Customer Service and Fulfilment Manager in ensuring all products are wrapped in accordance with the Fulfilment Schedule.
  • The role will package and post products to fulfil online orders, taking extra care to ensure products arrive in perfect condition.
  • The Wrapping and Fulfilment Assistant will have good communication skills (email & phone), happy to take orders, speak to customers and shop staff.
  • When required, the candidate will be happy to liaise with the wider production team about deliveries, stock and orders.
  • The role will assist the Customer Service and Fulfilment Manager in ensuring that the products are ready for collection and delivery between the two chocolateries.
  • The Wrapping and Fulfilment Assistant will assist in ensuring the chocolateries are well stocked and products are correctly displayed.
  • The post holder will exercise quality control, ensuring that all chocolate products are of the highest standards.
  • The role will liaise with Royal Mail and other distributors, using the relevant software systems to send orders.
  • The post holder will accurately complete paperwork.
  • This role will use labelling software to accurately label products in accordance with Natasha’s Law.
  • The candidate will be happy to help support the Front of House team or other areas of the business when required.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Dexterous, with an eye for presenting items beautifully.
  • Ability to work well at speed.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with common sense and initiative.
  • High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
  • A flexible approach to work, able to work occasional weekends or evenings during busy periods.
  • Computer literate, and happy to learn how to use our labelling software, online ordering system and postage system.
