Rumsey's Cocoa Pod School of Chocolate is a paradise for chocolate lovers. The new concept provides a Head Office for Rumseys with a modern production unit and demonstration kitchens. Rumsey’s Chocolate workshops are a great way to discover new talents, enjoy chocolate and de-stress!  Whether you are a novice or enjoy working in the kitchen, these courses are a great way to expand your knowledge of chocolate making.  We have a variety of courses for you to choose from, and the latest course additions to the calendar have been altered to allow for additional chocolate work to be included, and are all practical.  We can also recommend several places to stay, restaurants to try out and places to visit too!

CHOCOLATE WORKSHOPS                   JANUARY 2012 - JUNE 2012


 

1.5 HOUR “MAKE AND GO” SESSIONS

£40.00 per person -  These sessions are purely for fun, an ideal time to make something for yourself or a gift for someone special.

HALF DAY CHOCOLATE WORKSHOPS

Available Dates 2012 

HALF DAY - Three hours (+) - £85.00 per person

Receive a warm welcome and a special Rumsey's House Hot Chocolate with our spicy biscuits to dip into it!  You are taken through a brief

 history of chocolate and compare our own chocolate drink with the Aztec/Maya version. 

Taste some more chocolate and don your aprons and hats before moving over to the

chocolate making room - heaven!  You begin by making a simple truffle mix and while

it is setting you'll learn how to line a chocoate mould, choose a filling to make and

 begin in ernest!  The session continues with making your own chocolate figurine,

then a short break before finishing everything off.  Learn about different ways of

packing, and wrap your goodies.  There is an opportunity to purchase chocolate moulds,

dipping forks and much more.  You will be working with our own chocolatiers, who will

do their best to ensure your session is a memorable one.

  FULL DAY CHOCOLATE WORKSHOPS

Full Day Chocolate Making and Tempering Workshop - £150.00 per person.  Enjoy a full day of informative and practical chocolate making. If you need to practice the art of tempering chocolate you'll have plenty of opportunity.  This course is led by Nigel Rumsey or Pawel Szymanski.

Welcome tea, coffee or hot chocolate on arrival introduction to chocolate making, from the cocoa bean to the bar (dvd), information and practical on tempering chocolate Make a chocolate figurine, detailing the mould  You will be participating in a group session, making up to five different types of truffles/chocolates Enjoy our special lunch with a glass of wine or fruit juice Make some chocolate run outs which can be used for dessert decorations The finished items will be made into a display for you to photograph before packing and wrapping to take home.
